Questions:
What kind of projects do we choose?
We are looking for stories and styles that take a world or character we may think we already know, and spin it on its axis to give us a new perspective. It’s not about your production budget.
Our goal is to expose audiences to any or all of the below:
Fresh takes on worlds, formats, or characters we are used to seeing
Distinct directing or storytelling that moves the narrative
Captivating themes or messaging that challenge us
Do I give up any rights or exclusivity if my short is on The Shot List?
Nope, none it all! We built this site with sole incentive of lifting up and pushing out rising directors, such as yourself, for the purposes of creating work and opportunities for you. There are no strings attached by having your short be a part of The Shot List. We hope it opens up your work to the tastemakers and decision makers to get you to the next level.
Who's viewing My short?
The Shot List sends your short to a vast and curated collection of individuals in and around the entertainment industry who we believe champion new voices, support diverse subject matter, and foster progressive change. From this initial group of people The Shot List will naturally open up to people hear about it and want to check out notable, emerging directors.
What's the Pick Of The Month?
This is a short film we feel exceptionally stands out based on our criteria. We pick a short once a month to feature on our site and we also email this film out to everyone who is subscribed to our email list. After a short is featured, we load it into the category of genre where it belongs so it can stay in front of our viewers.
